1) How do I reserve a cottage?
You may reserve a cottage by sending your request through our website, calling us directly at 774.216.6170 or e-mailing us at gibsoncottages@comcast.net

2) What method of payment is accepted?
We accept cash, personal checks, cashier/bank checks and money orders. We do NOT accept credit cards.

3) What is the payment process?

4) What if I have to cancel?

5) Do you offer discounts on any cottages?
Depending on our availability, we may offer discounted specials.

6) What dates are considered “Seasonal” and “Off-Season”?
For 2022, our seasonal dates run from June 25 – September 3. Our off-season dates run from May 1 – June 25 and September 3 – October 30.

7) Can cottages be rented for shorter stays?
Seasonal rentals are weekly only from Saturday through Saturday. Off-season rentals offer flexibility for weekly and nightly rentals; however, we do request a 2-night minimum.

8) When is check in/check out?
Check in is anytime after 1 p.m. and check out is by 10:00 a.m. We understand traffic can be challenging, especially in the summer. If you arrive before 1 p.m., and your cottage has been cleaned, you are more than welcome to check in earlier. If your cottage is not quite ready, you are more than welcome to relax on the beach.

9) Where can I park my vehicle?
Each cottage has 1 parking space. We kindly ask that any additional vehicles (including guests), be parked at the designated parking area at the top of the road. Please do not park in front of the trash or recycling bins. Additionally, please do not park on the grass around the cottages, as there are sprinkler heads hidden in the ground.

10) Am I permitted to have overnight guests?
Yes, as long as you do not go over the maximum occupancy limit.

11) What is expected of me when I bring my pet(s)?

12) Do I need to bring linens/towels?
Yes. We supply clean mattress pads and pillows with clean pillow protectors that are washed after each stay. Comforters or quilts are supplied for each bed, as well as a bath mat. If you prefer, you can ship us any items you wish for us to hold before your arrival. Please see the following question for information on shipping a package to us.

13) What address do I use to send a package or have my mail forwarded?
Your name, c/o Gibson Cottages, 80 Depot Road, Eastham, MA 02642. We will call you when your items arrive or deliver your mail to you. Please do not have packages shipped or mail forwarded to the actual cottage.

14) Where can I rent canoes, standup paddle boards, kayaks or boats?
We have several kayaks, a fishing boat and a stand up paddle board that is available for our guests to use. We have life jackets available for every size. For additional rentals click on the below link:

15) Is smoking permitted in the cottages?
Smoking is NOT permitted in any of the cottages.

16) What if I leave something behind?
Send us an e-mail or call us at 774.216.6170. If we locate the lost item, we will return them to you; however, we ask that you kindly pay the shipping costs.

17) What day is trash/recycling pick up?
It seems as though our trash/recycling pick up changes on a weekly basis. We ask that all guests bring their trash and recyclables up to the bins during and at the end of their stay. Information on what is recyclable can be found in your cottage. Currently, all recyclables are “streamlined” (meaning it does not have to be separated) EXCEPT for corrugated cardboard which has its own bin and is labeled appropriately.

18) What is expected of me when I leave?
We know that you are on vacation and cleaning is the last thing you want to do. We ask that the cottages are left broom swept or vacuumed and tidy and trash/recyclables are brought up to the bins. We would appreciate it if you would please treat the cottage like it was your own.

19) Do you allow weddings or family reunions?
We have had a few “small” weddings on our property and family reunions; however, arrangements should be made ahead of time and can only be accommodated during our off-season months.

20) Can we have an outdoor campfire?
We have a fire pit down by the beach that is available for guests to use.

21) Can we pitch a tent?
No.

22) Do the cottages have telephones?
No. If you are in need of a telephone, or need to print an e-mail, please let us know and we would be more than happy to accommodate you.

23) Do the cottages have air conditioning?
Yes.

24) Where can I get groceries?
The Eastham Superette (general store) is in walking distance from the cottages, located just across the street from the Eastham Windmill which provides basic staples/supplies. The closest supermarket is Stop & Shop in Orleans, which is just past the Orleans rotary. Stop & Shop also has Pea Pod Service where you can order most of your groceries ahead of time, online, and they will deliver directly to your cottage for a very small fee (definitely worth it during the seasonal months and many guests use it)! 25) Do you have accommodations for my infant?
We do have a portable pack and play, as well as a portable booster chair. For information on rentals, click here.

26) Where can I bring my dog?
